Business Casual: Transformation Of A Corporate Events Office

This month, our dear friends at Red Velvet Events issued a unique design challenge: fill their new office space for the month with our rentals! We created three lounges for their light-filled space & absolutely adore how the space turned out. The only requirement? Each lounge grouping would have to be multi-functional, because their team will brainstorm event designs, meet with clients, and kick up their feet after long event days, within the spaces we designed.

Their request could not have come at a better time, because we recently added over fifty (!!!) new pieces to our furniture rental collection, so many of them made their debut at the RVE headquarters.

Scroll on to see how we re-defined the idea of business casual in order to transform the office space.

Office Takeover at Red Velvet Events

The natural light at the RVE office is incredible!

The first lounge we designed was an anchor for the large open space. Before we brought in our deep navy blue Baldwin sectional and vibrant Wethersfield rug, we used three of our Henry backdrop walls to help define the lounge. Then, flanked by our new modern brass-legged Kacy Chairs and Scandinavian leather Patrick chairs, we accessorized the space with an eclectic mix of vintage Kilim, indigo, and velvet pillows. With a few more touches of brass, thanks to our Daria coffee table and Bailey side tables, we added a bit of shine to the lounge.

For our second lounge, situated in front of the most adorable phone booths ever where the staff takes client phonecalls, we were inspired by the bubble gum pink wall color. Our new Mauve Kacy chairs were made for this space! To prevent an overwhelming explosion of pink, we added our hunter green Anna sofa to bring some depth to the color palette. To finish the look, we added our marble Elisha tables, as well as our leather Kimball chairs.

Layering rugs is one of our favorite design tricks.

Our final lounge mirrors the previous one in terms of color palette and aesthetic. This time though, we paired our mauve Anna sofa with the emerald green Kacy chairs (yes, we have four of these beauties!).

We selected florals that were chic yet professional.

Finally, we thought our new cocktail tables and bar stools would offer the RVE team yet another seating option with a seriously modern style. They’re perfect for quick one-on-one client meetings, and they even make a cute lunch spot!

A huge thank-you goes out to the amazing team at Red Velvet Events for inviting us to transform their office all January long! We hope the lounges allow them to start the new year with greater creativity and productivity!
