This week’s mood board story was inspired by three things: first, an article from Architectural Digest about the resurgence of industrial design happening across the country. If haven’t read the AD story, definitely add it to your reading list, since Austin’s forthcoming St. Elmo Public Market —slated to open fall of this year— gets a mention. Secondly, some of our new coffee and side tables that are absolutely perfect for this post. If you haven’t met our Caroline or Andrea tables, check them out below to get ideas on how to add them to your upcoming wedding or corporate event. Finally, we were also inspired by some of our favorite venues in Austin & San Antonio that boast an industrial aesthetic, including some of our faves: 800 Congress, Brazos Hall and Hotel Emma.
Some folks describe industrial architecture and design as cold and harsh. While that may be a fair description of industrial materials (e.g., brick, wood, and metal), we also believe that industrial style can be warm and inviting, or even colorful and cool. Scroll through our mood boards below for our personal take on industrial charm!
