One of the main reasons that I started Birch & Brass was my love for an intimate dinner party. Bringing people together to enjoy one another’s company and indulge in some delicacies tops my list for favorite activities. Because we can’t host dinner parties in our kitchen-less warehouses, I thought the next best thing could be bringing people together to learn a new skill in the company of friends and/or strangers alike.
Our first workshop at Birch & Brass will be held by Shay Spaniola of Bunglo. If you’re unfamiliar with her, Shay creates unique textiles from handmade, one-of-a-kind patterns. Many of them are inspired by nature, mid-century modern lines, and her adventures, which sounds eerily similar to the inspiration behind Birch & Brass, so I knew this would be a perfect fit.
This Sunday, guests can learn natural dye methods using leaves to dye pillows. Keep your new creation for yourself, or share it with a loved one who will appreciate your kind gesture. You’ll also be dying gift tags for your other holiday gifts, because after all… details matter just as much as the gift itself, right? Right.
For $72, you’ll get an afternoon with Shay, learn a new skill set, and leave with a pieces made with your own two hands. That’s what we call a Sunday Funday around these parts!
