If you haven’t made the trip down to San Antonio to visit the Hotel Emma yet, add that to your to-do list immediately. Even if you’re not staying overnight at the gorgeously-designed hotel — it was once a beer brewery — visitors can still enjoy a drink at Sternewirth or an incredible meal at Supper (we highly recommend their weekend brunch!).

The hotel pays tribute to the building’s history, with rustic and industrial elements like concrete, leather, and some of the brewery’s original machinery, at every turn. So, imagine our excitement when our dear friends at Sweet August Events approached us for rentals after one of their couples decided to host a sultry and bohemian wedding in the rich and rustic space!

Much like the hotel’s decor, this wedding is a perfect example of playing with juxtaposing design principles. Traditional versus modern. Bohemian meets romantic. Layered and intimate. Scroll on to see how all of these seemingly disparate elements come together in this warm and beautiful wedding with absolutely perfect design by Katherine Lopez.

Bohemian Ceremony with a Vintage Rug Aisle

We used our Edison, Kristal, Rachel, and Susanna rugs to create a layered rug aisle. Simple urns filled with pampas grass from Statue of Design only added to the moody boho look.
